After being recast in 1911, the bells remained in use for almost one hundred years before needing major refurbishment in 2006. The problems that had arisen included:
Worn bearings, corroded head bolts, cracked rims and worn clappers.
The work to renovate the bells included:
- Refixing of frame to stonework
- New bearings for front four bells
- New bearings for back four
- New pulley blocks
- New rims for the wheels

The Tenor bearings were upgraded and the gudgeons were found to be 6mm out of alignment. The headstock was sent away to Walsall for special attention.

The bells were rehung quarter turned by Whites of Appleton. The quarter turning changes the point of impact of the clapper on the bell and reduces the risk of cracking.
